GTX 1060 3GB or RX 570 4GB with Freesync?

I've been wanting to upgrade my graphics card for a while, and I'm stuck between the GTX 1060 3GB or the RX 570 4GB. The GTX 1060 3GB seems like the better option, as it is slightly cheaper at the moment, and is also slightly faster. However, the monitor I plan on buying has FreeSync, so the RX 570 4GB may provide a better experience. I don't plan on buying a G-Sync monitor since they are quite expensive. The RX 570 also has more VRAM. So which one should I buy?

Here are the models I'm considering:

RX 570 4GB
GTX 1060 3GB

If you want to take advantage of the monitor, the obvious choice would be the 570. If you go with the 1060, I'd save the money and go with a standard monitor. As a 1060 3GB owner, I've been very happy. Be aware though, on some games, you will run out of VRAM before graphics horse power. Other than that, it's a sweet card.

The 570 is better choice, not only has 4Gb which is very important in the future, versions like the PowerColor Red Devil actually are factory overclocked quite high, beating the 1060.

Go for the 1060. What resolution you play at and game settings. WIth a 3GB going high res and high textures will be hard and what not

If you are going to buy a Freesync then obviously pick the 570. According to what I've seen, the 1060 3gb IS faster on most titles, but it will run on Vram issues before the 570 does. I have the 1060 3gb and there are games where you need to lower the textures to High or Medium compared to Ultra that the 6gb model can do. Other than that, it's a pretty fast card, you won't regret picking either.

You have to keep in mind the 1060 3Gb is actually a cut down version of the 6Gb, is not even just the lack of memory.
I would still suggest you buying a 570 Red Devil that clocks pretty high and offers better performance.

I agree with batman on the vram part, the more you have it means, smoother play time in games, less stuttering watching streams from netflix and alike.
