So I finally upgraded my GPU.
Got an Asus 8GB GTX 1080 Turbo for $315 shipped, like new condition, original packaging and box, never overclocked.
I've loved my GTX 670 but it just couldn't handle 1440P gaming that well anymore.
My i7 930 @ 4.0GHz still games well so this will my last my upgrade on my X58 before I build a complete new system.
Current specs are:
- i7 930 @ 4.0GHz 24/7
- Asus 8GB GTX 1080 Turbo
- 12GB DDR3 @ 1583Mhz
- 250GB EVO SSD, 1TB Samsung F3, 500GB Barracuda
- HP Omen 27" 1440P 1MS Gsync Monitor
- Razer BlackWidow Extreme, DeathAdder Mouse and Goliathus Speed Edition MousePad

Hoping to get a few more years out of my old, ancient rig, and hoping to see a nice jump from the 670 to the 1080 @ 1440p.
What do you guys think?

Here's the TechSpot review of the 1080:

...and one for the GTX 980:

https://www.techspot.com/review/885-nvidia-geforce-gtx-970-gtx-980/page5.html

Look at the Battlefield 4 test results. In the 1080 review, you can see that at 1440p, the 1080 was 68% on average than the GTX 980; in that card's review, the same game was used to test the 980 against a GTX 680 (and at a slightly lower resolution). The 980 was 71% faster than the 680.

So, to be brief, you'll see an enormous jump in performance at 1440p. Some people may say that your CPU will bottleneck the performance, but since you're running it at 4GHz, it'll be fine.
