HDMI to VGA connector turns TV screen black on higher resolution

Hi

I am trying to connect my 46inch TV to my system. I am using HDMI to VGA connector to achieve this. Everything is working fine, but if I move to higher resolutions, it starts giving me black/blank screen. My TV supports 1080p resolution, I have checked this with another system,which supports direct HDMI connection.

Kindly tell me how to resolve this problem.
