Hello Games, the creative minds behind the stuntman action/puzzle/racer series Joe Danger, had a disastrous Christmas Eve when their development studio was devastated by flood waters. The UK-based office is located in Surrey, where a recent flood burst through the banks of the river Wey, affecting homes and business all around the area. According to some recent Twitter posts, the team seems to be in good spirits, but it is unclear when developers will be able to get back to work.

"We're taking stock today, but already I know we'll come back stronger :) - all we'll need is a place to work and a machine to work on :)," reads a post from the Twitter account. "A river broke its bank nearby yesterday, and A LOT of water flooded in really quickly. A biblical amount. It was coming in the windows!"

The group is working steadily on taking stock of everything that was lost in the disaster, but doesn't yet have a clear picture of how much damage has really been done. It will likely be a while still until we learn if the team has lost any work-based progress on their newest Joe Danger title. The developer recently announced a new project too, dubbed "No Man's Sky," just weeks ago.

Unfortunately, power is still out to a majority of the surrounding areas, and many homes, businesses, and local emergency services have been forced to evacuate. Because of this, the developer has put the desire to recover their source code on the back burner, in favor of public safety. We wish all of the residents of Surrey a speedy recovery and hope that everyone can find comfort and safety during this difficult time.

Given that so far at least 5 people have been killed by the floods/weather in the UK over the past few days, an office being flooded seems pretty insignificant by comparison!!
