Help me build a PC Gamer rig

Actually 1600x900 wasn't working for me for recording purposes.
(Note, I can play games just fine at 1600x900, but recording is a pain)
So at 1366x768 games max out , I record beautiful now and the game looks amazing still. So for the current setup I have 1366x768 max settings in games is the best for me. Once I upgrade I will go back to 1600x900. Anyways kinda curiuos on what the OP bought, you know which card, and if he got it already

Are you sure your HDD isnt the issue? Recording to the same drive you game on can cause slowdowns. Also, if you have a 1GB card, recording may be a struggle.

No no, that is never a problem even tho I know about that HDD tip, I tried that years ago didn't see any difference. I never had any trouble recording games. Even at 1600x900 no problems recording, but the frame rate drops lower than I wanted when recording " only with 2-3 important games which I play ". So switching over to 1366x768 I can record much much better with higher frame rates. And overall game play is better at that resolution, and games still look the same as they did at 1600x900, so everything is good :) Pretty sure my CPU is holding me back a bit, so I do plan to upgrade soon. but not right now, q6600 works great. Just played BF3 at Ultra settings max with aa deferred 4x 1366x768, 38-55, but does drop to 30-40 at very demanding areas. overall not bad. aa deferred is not really needed tho, I was just doing some quick benchmarks , I usually play without, so the framerate stays between 40-60 all the time.

The drivers have evolved so much that those frame rates seem reasonable @ ultra. I think the CPU is holding your recording back like you said.

The case isnt as important as a GPU. Get a Corsair 200R for 50 bucks and put more money into the GPU. That is only if you have a budget. What is your budget?
