sorry it took me long enough to reply in this thread but i just finished visiting EVERY offices...listing down thier pc's own IP address...thats 2 whole weeks of listing! whew!

anyway im about to start giving them again individually thier own new IP address next week but this time hiding the LAN options..i hope it could hold the line against intruders...

Lol @ your company for not running a client/server environment...especially with 600 plus pc's? How the hell did they get this far without disappearing up its own a*sehole?
I've read the thread, but must have missed the part explaining why all the IP's are manually assigned. Even without a server domain, your routers, (surely you have routers) can be used as DHCP servers?
If you're on a workgroup(s) then GP will have to be applied on each pc.
Totally agree with Kimsland, you can't truly be expected to manage this situation without a server domain. And if they do....ask for a big fat raise!
Good luck buddy!

The Network Connections icon in the Control Panel represents a Shell folder, and the ncpa.cpl just launches the shell folder. One way to hide the Network Connections folder is to add the GUID {7007ACC7-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E} to the Non enumerate list (NonEnum) in the registry.

To do this:
Start REGEDIT.EXE and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ NonEnum

-or-

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ NonEnum

Select NonEnum, and in the right-pane, create a REG_DWORD value named {7007ACC7-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E} and set it's data to 1

Close REGEDIT

Tell us it worked or not.
hiway:

Thank you very much for this solution. It worked perfectly for me.

(I was trying to block Network Connections Properties from being modified on computers at our small business running XP.)
