Restart in most cases really fixes most problems.

Okay... Once I restarted, my screen had gone black and in the top left corner I saw "Sophos Scan and Clean". After a minute or so my laptop is now on the Dell loading screen. Should I be concerned?

Edit: Dell is now stating that Automatic Repair could not repair my PC...

Would it be a good idea to boot into Safe Mode and see if Sophos is still there, and try uninstalling?

First, try to shut down your computer completely. Wait couple of minutes. Try to start it again.

Unfortunately the instructions do not work. bootrec /fixboot tells me access is denied and I do not have access to another computer to install windows onto. I am unable to reset my PC either
