HP Envy 17-j099nr is it SATA III 6Gbps capable

Looking up specs is not helpful. The Envy 17-j099nr has a HM87 express chipset which is SATA III capable but HP may not have implemented the SATA III ports.

Does someone with direct experience know for certain that if I install an SATA III SSD, the drive controller interface will connect at SATA III 6Gbps speed? or is it stuck at SATA II?

The Envy 17-j099nr does support SATA III 6Gbps connection speed with its drive controller. I bought a new SATA III drive and installed it and then confirmed that the connection was at SATA III speed with HWINFO.
