i have an hp notebook (see title) running w7 sp1, that is only 13 days old. just yesterday it started making a very annoying sound. it just makes the same 2 tone sound really fast. when you click on the sound icon in the task bar the meter reads 100%. nothing has been installed recently before this started. the sound dialog box under recording shows the mic meter steady around 50% and the stereo mix meter at 100%. it's almost like constant feed back but i don't think that's it. i talked to hp and they said to upgrade my bios but the ftp link they sent me to doesn't exist. anxious to provide any other information needed. thx
