HP is unveiling a number of new tablets today ranging from high end business models and education focused products, to entry level Android and Windows devices. While there are a series of new Android tabs with HP’s stylus support and even a hybrid laptop/tablet combo, it is the new 12.3-inch Pro Slate 12 (seen above) and the 7.9-inch Pro Slate 8 that are catching all the attention.

Aesthetically not unlike a larger version of HTC’s One M-series smartphones, the new Slates include KitKat (plus a suite of HP apps), Snapdragon 800 processors and 2GB of RAM. While the Slate 12 has a somewhat disappointing 1600 x 1200 res display, the Slate 8 has 2048 x 1536 resolution with a 4:3 aspect ratio like the comparable iPad.

They will go for $449 and $569 for the Slate 12, but will come bundled with HP’s new smart pen device, the Duet Pen. The combo stylus allows users to write on any surface and have those characters appear automatically in digital form on the accompanying Slate.

On top of a fairly standard 8-inch Windows tablet known as the Pro Tablet 408 featuring a 1280 x 800 display running a 1.33GHz Intel Atom with 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage, we are also getting two new classroom focused tabs as well. The new Pro Windows Tablet 10 EE and the Pro Slate 10 EE running Android will come in at $299 and $279 respectively for education customers ($349 otherwise). They come with full stylus support including a slot to store one, but not the stylus itself. These run a 1.33 GHz Atom processor with 1GB of RAM, and a 10-inch 1280 x 800 display.

Lastly, we are getting a new version of the ElitePad 1000 rugged Windows tablet for healthcare users and the new Elite x2 1011 business grade convertible tablet/laptop hybrid (seen below). It has an 11.6-inch display between 1366 x 768 and 1920 x 1080 and comes in several configurations starting at 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
