installation RADEON 9800 PRO ATLANTIS turns off screen (or gives no signal)

Dear all,

I just bought a new graphical card and I got a huge problem.
I looked on the internet for an answer, but could't find a solution.

Before I had the RADEON 9800 PRO ATLANTIS, I had a NVIDEA GFORCE TI4600. This card worked properly.

What happens now; when Windows XP starts up, I see my screen. From the moment Windows XP installs the card, my screen turns off (or the screen does´'t get any signal from the card). It does't matter which driver I install (I tried the latest CATALYST 5.6 Windows XP, automatically with Windows XP or the one from the CD). From the moment it is installed my screen turns off.

I also have Linux installed on my pc and here the card works very fine.


I am really desperate. can somebody helps or did someone have the same problem, please help me.

Power cable to your pwer supply!!

Ok I had the same problem with my Ati Radeon x850 xt. Make sure that u have a power cable going to your power supply.Because for some dumb :dead: reason ATI decided that some video cards need's a power cable going to the power supply.
