Apple announced today that iPhone X will be available to walk-in customers on its stores on launch day. While the queues outside Apple stores at the iPhone 8 launch were pretty dismal, they’re expected to be a lot longer when the iPhone X arrives on November 3.

It sounds to us like Apple is trying to create momentum and have people form lines again outside its stores, which has worked for them in the past as positive press coverage not to mention it gives them the chance to upsell accessories or devices with more storage capacity.

Indeed, the company is encouraging customers to arrive early, but one person who won’t be lining up to grab the $1000+ handset is the company’s co-founder, Steve Wozniak. The Woz has been a regular fixture at previous iPhone launches, but at the Money 20/20 conference in Las Vegas, he said, “I'd rather wait and watch that one. I'm happy with my iPhone 8 — which is the same as the iPhone 7, which is the same as the iPhone 6, to me."

"For some reason, the iPhone X is going to be the first iPhone I didn't — on day one — upgrade to. But my wife will, so I'll be close enough to see it," he added, according to CNBC. Like many people, Wozniak has expressed concerns about the iPhone X’s Face ID feature, which appeared to, but apparently didn’t, fail at the unveiling event. He did, however, try to justify the high price of Apple phones earlier this year by calling them a “safe bet.”

While Wozniak says he’s happy with his iPhone 8, Apple would probably have preferred him to dial back the veiled criticism. But this isn’t the first time he’s spoke out against the company he helped create. Back in August last year, Wozniak warned that removing the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 would “tick off a lot of people.” Apple failed to take heed of his advice, of course, and he was right; it did tick people off. But not enough stop other companies like Google—who previously mocked Apple for its decision—going down the same route.

Recently Apple CEO Tim Cook was quoted saying "we'll be working as hard as possible to make as many as possible," in regards to iPhone X availability. iPhone X will be available in more than 55 countries and in Apple Stores beginning Friday, November 3. Pre-orders are expected to start delivery on that same day. iPhone X pre-orders begin this Friday, October 27 at midnight Pacific Time.

Under this logic, each and every android based handset was an utter failure.

If it was me, I'd divorce the stupid cow.
Choosing a mate over the brand of phone they like? Big life decisions (as well as family choice) comes down to a phone for you? Wow. You REALLY care too much about what other people may prefer. Weird dude, just weird, but some are like that I guess.

He's just a regular customer having the privilege of being one of the founder yet unrelated to the development of the iphones. Im glad he left Apple. The face ID and new super efficient cpu are the game changer for the iphoneX. I m eager to see the reviews and I'll bet a lot of catch-ups from competitors.

The iPhone 8 has the same CPU.... the only "game changer" is the bezel-less screen and face id.... and the screen has already been done by Samsung in previous models, so not exactly "game-changing"....

Thanks man. At least I've got one (yours) response from that post. It's still early in some parts of the USA so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to read the rest.

Yeah it's funny to me that this is now somehow become the standard for determining product success...as if millions of people don't buy products without waiting in line.

It's not a standard, who said it was? It is a trend, however, something people always did whenever an iPhone came out and people aren't doing it now and it is worth noting.

you are right with that. I was referring how good is A11 compared to other CPUs. I believe that is also a game changer.

Ouch. You could feel the Apple board cringing.
