I have this Dell Laptop inspiron 6400 laptop running windows XP with 2GB ram. Recently I gave it to my daughter to use it.Unfortunately all but 1 USB port all gone. Only one USB 1.1 is working. But Its Firewire IEEE 1394 is working. Is there anyway I can use my USB hub to connect to this port So that external Keyboard and mouse can be connected?

Thanks

The onboard mouse and keyboard work, right?

I'd suggest you first try reinstalling the USB controllers first.

Yes onboard mouse and keyboard is working Thanks , but USB controllers are working, its USB ports that are damaged. Their pin covers came out broken, very bad quality parts from dell.

That I don't know. But the adapter is cheap enough so you don't have much to lose by trying.
