i just ripped superbad and tried to convert it to my ipod but when i watched it there were subtitles/closed caption

is there a way to set the default for subtitles to be off?? so when i convert the vid it wont be closed captioned on my ipod?

Have you checked to make sure subtitles were set to off on your iPod?

Settings -> Subtitles Off
also might try
Settings -> Captions Off

yeah it's off

i tried watching it on my PC and subtitles are still there although the CC option is set to off

and holy shi+ u have a lot of HDD space crammed into ur comp...

If you watch them on your PC with VLC are you able to turn them off?

Video -> Subtitles Track -> Disable

If you can't turn them off there, it has to be a setting with whatever you are using to rip the DVDs.

yea i've tried that

im using DVDfab 5 but i cant find an option.... i tried goldmember today and it did the same

yea you're right i found the option but it it was burried in the advanced settings as scripting..... stupid

thanx for ur help
