iexplorer slow to start and load pages. speed check websites show normal speeds. please keep in mind i am a novice, only experience i have is fixing my computer with help from great websites like this. thanks for the help.

Judging by your HJT log, the machine doesn't appear to be badly infected. mainly some adware like BHO's. If you run MBAM and then remove everything it finds does that speed things up?

Also, and this is just my personal preferance, I would remove that bloated Norton Internet Security suite and go with a much lighter program like AVG or Avira. Just be sure to turn the Windows Firewall back on once you remove it. It's been my experience that Norton bloatware drastically slows down IE.

Thanks for the input. I just read the "What slows windows down" link on this site. Unfortunately I have 350 days left on my norton subscription. Opening iexplorer to google.com home page-31 seconds. Opening time with norton disabled-4 seconds. I'll keep norton as long as I can stand it, then try one of your recommended programs. Thanks again for the help.
