Something to look forward to: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 launches in just under two months, which means the PC system requirements have dropped – they're not too bad, compared to some recent titles. Developer Warhorse Studios has also revealed the game's console performance, including for the new PlayStation 5 Pro.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance was one of our favorite games of 2018, earning a place on our Best PC Games (You Should be Playing) list. The highly anticipated sequel looks amazing in the trailers, but will you need a monster PC to play it?

Not really, according to the just-released PC requirements. Warhorse Studios has released details for six different graphics, FPS, and resolution combinations, from 1080p@30fps at low all the way up to 4K@30fps at Ultra.

The most commonly used settings, 1080p@60fps at medium, asks for an RTX 3060. It seems Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be quite CPU intensive. The processor requirements for most settings are a little more extreme, with the least powerful in the green section being an Intel Core i5-12600K.

Memory demands are also higher than what we're used to seeing. 16GB is now the absolute bare minimum, with 24GB recommended for 1080p/1440p medium settings and 32GB above that level. The latest Steam survey shows 16GB is the most common (46%) amount of RAM among participants, with 32GB being the second most-common (31%).

Unlike some other modern games, there's no mention of upscaling being a requirement: these are the native resolutions.

Warhorse Studios also gave details of Deliverance 2's console performance. It shows the differences between the Performance and Fidelity settings on the Xbox Series X and PS5. The PS5 Pro is also on the table as the only console able to hit 60FPS when upscaled to 4K.

KCD 2 was supposed to arrive before the end of 2024, but Warhorse delayed it until February 11. However, the studio has now brought that release date forward by one week to February 4, 2025.

February is going to be a busy time for gaming fans. In addition to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Obsidian's RPG Avowed is arriving in the same month (February 18), as is the new Yakuza game (February 21), and Steam's most wishlisted game, Monster Hunter Wilds (February 28).

KCD 2's specs are certainly an improvement over those of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Machine Games' first-person action-adventure requires a GPU capable of hardware-accelerated ray tracing, while almost all settings ask for 32GB of RAM. For path tracing, you'll also need DLSS 3 with frame gen enabled to hit 60fps.

13600K at the low end but 12600K for medium? Something seems a little off here... Also can't imagine needing a 13700K for high unless we've finally managed to push 8+ threads in a standard game.

And RAM @24GB? Think 16 will likely work just fine for medium to high loads, though I can see 24-32 helping at the high end.

Also not sure why I'd want an RX 5700 over a 6700...

Anyways, good to know my 14600K/32GB/6800XT will be just fine. Excited for this one.

The CPU requirement's are very odd considering the higher you push the screen resolution the less taxing on the CPU it tends to be as this stress's the GPU. These graphs seem to indicate the opposite. I would expect to see a higher tier GPU's in the high/ultra end with pretty uniform CPU recommendations across med/high/ultra. Guess we will see.

The CPU makes a big difference. Having an X3D CPU will probably help a lot.
Also Vavra posted on X that 7900xtx reaches 50-60 fps on 4k ultra and 35-50 on 4k experimental settings. So I have a feeling that the "Best Ultra" column is actually for the so called Experimental settings, not Ultra, and "Recommended 1440p High" is actually a combination of High and Ultra, while "Recommended 1080p High" is just High settings. This would be the only way the table makes sense.

What you are talking about ??

12600K is listed for high setting at 30fps

13600K is listed for medium setting at 60fps

You are correct. My mistake in the wording, as I meant medium performance not medium settings. Still I find it hard to believe that say, a 12400F, or even something older, won't hit 30fps at 1080p on high (given at least a midrange GPU). Considering I've been using that exact chip for years at 4K, medium to high and achieving 60s.

And a 13600K required just to hit 60fps? Come on. You buy a 13600K to go above that, as in well over 100.
