My issue:
When I plug in headphones to the 3.5mm audio jack on my laptop (Dell Inspiron), the laptop displays that a microphone device has been input and therefore continues playing sound through the laptop speaker.
I definitely have installed the latest Realtek HD Audio Driver for my laptop (off the Dell website), but when I navigate to look to the HD Audio Manager, I can't find it.
I think if I could figure out how to get access to the HD Audio Manager, I can switch the device to be recognized as headphones rather than a microphone, but I have searched all over the internet and can't find advice other than, "Make sure your driver is updated".
