I checked out a couple of the monitors there and I think I see what's going on. In that pcpartpicker list with IPS panels at 1 ms (at least the ones I checked out) they aren't actually measuring GTG. They are tricks to give a visual perception of 1 ms response rate. I don't have time to check them all but based on some other reading I've done in the past there was a limit of 4 ms for IPS that requires some sort of design change in order to overcome. I believe this thread is pointing out that the design change is here and we can get true 1 ms GTG with IPS panels now. I did go ahead and post it in our internal thread so someone with more time can check it out though.
