looking at video cards

looking at buying a ait 9600xt or a 9700pro. I know if i get a 9700pro i will need a new power supply. I will be playing a few games,and in the future using a tv for a monitor. I would like to keep cost under $150, looking on ebay. Both cards going for about the same price.
my system is a emachines t2482
amd 2400xp
768mb ram pc2100
250w power supply
80 gig hd
xp home os.
help me make a decision,I've been looking for 3 weeks,can't decide.

The 9700 is the better card but you can get a 9800 Pro for $150, especially on Ebay. Deffinately replace the power supply. I worked on a new eMachine last weekend. Its PS failed and ruined the motherboard.

Don't you just hate how Emachines puts these low watt power supplies in, especially with the Amd processors.

what is a good brand ps and how many watts would i need. I'm trying to keep cost down so i don't upset the wife. I got a free game and haft to spend $150 to play it.

go to Newegg.com. You can get a 300w Allied power supply and a 256mb Radeon 9600 Pro for $140.
