It's there any good alternative to CCleaner?
I'm usually in such a hurry to come here and make trouble, I simply click away the update enticements anyway. So we're happily stuck on 5.1. something, something.Glad I've always used the 64 bit version, which was never affected. I used to clean my system manually but it became very tedious and I finally tried ccleaner and I have to say that it's built on solid code. It's always done a really good job for me, so I've kept using it for years.
It's good that they caught it fast (at least from what they are telling us), but scary that such a popular program was injected with malware.
I would seriously recommend to get something else, Windows Defender is not what it used to be, the detection rates are on the floor, and that it detected it today as a virus... daaamn.Didn't have CCleaner installed but I had an installation of it in one of my folders. Windows Defender found it as a virus today.
I've ran Windows without a real anti virus for as long as I can remember without issues, so I just keep Windows Defender as first aid in case something happens. It detected it today probably because I keep cloud based protection off and just turned it on today, or maybe it has nothing to do with it idk.I would seriously recommend to get something else, Windows Defender is not what it used to be, the detection rates are on the floor, and that it detected it today as a virus... daaamn.
Unless the CCleaner was the malware infected version, I'd chalk the false detection up to good old M$, trying to close the Windows system in general.I would seriously recommend to get something else, Windows Defender is not what it used to be, the detection rates are on the floor, and that it detected it today as a virus... daaamn.
