I am always astounded by the relative value of things. My mind truly boggles at the fact you can buy a CPU for 40 bucks, yet may be asked to shell out a hundred dollars or more for a pair of sneakers.

As far as silicon goes, it's the next to last element that a dying giant star fuses, the next is iron, and after that can come a supernova. Stardust, it makes the IT world go 'round.
