What are they talking about? They can move DATA between countries, except personal data which do identifya a person. They still can process and store them localy in EU, and that's fine. If they are going to take it out to US and then share with partners, thats not allowed and either cope with that or go away.
I really hope EU commision will keep GDPR in place and wont give in to those scumbags.

Too bad all social media platforms can't be shut down. Younger generations today can't create a paragraph without several grammatical and spelling errors, and can't verbalize a single sentence without interjecting the word "like" into that sentence at least three times. They have become utterly socially inept, and barely able to communicate. This is what happens when social media teaches our children language, instead of our school systems.

In the end, the combined cost of the loss in data collected to sell, active users, general traffic, stocks plummeting and the like will make opening a few data centers over Europe like small change.

My idea would be entirely feasible. Shut down both sites in Europe and America. Suddenly people would start to smile, say good morning again and even talk to each other when meeting. Leave the two programs in Russia and China if allowed and eventually they would become so totally confused that they would fight each other to the death.
