It has always worked for me. And the link was at the top of that post you quoted so you even quoted the link, it's that big bold blue text that says MS tool...
Well there it is. It works for you so it logically must be great for everybody. And anyone that disagrees must just be an *#@^%&*. No fear here, just the thought of the surveillance society being morally reprehensible and its existence indefensible. It has always worked for me....
Autosave will work for anyone that uses it the way I do just like it works for me. I do not get a different result than anyone else, that's how computers work. The same input run through the same conditions yields the same result. Its not logic, its computer science.Well there it is. It works for you so it logically must be great for everybody. And anyone that disagrees must just be an *#@^%&*. No fear here, just the thought of the surveillance society being morally reprehensible and its existence indefensible.
Actually Windows 10 has more to do with a social engineering malware stunt than it does with the "gift" M$ is selling it as. "You can have Windows 10 as a gift", (as long as you look the other way with respect to the tracking, and the fact they are trying to turn Windows into a closed system, a la Apple). Then there's the whole "propaganda update", which rams 10 down the unsuspecting person's I throat outlined above.....[ ]..... Its not logic, its computer science....[ ]....
Just because someone may not wish to live under the thumb of the M$ corporation, in the way you seem to relish it, really isn't a excuse for you to spout a bunch of ideological dogma that doesn't really apply to the topic. Some of us, unlike yourself, have the presence of mind to realize that a few of these corporations are giving us no place to run.l And while you choose to grasp at workarounds, many others would rather be offered the freedoms to which we have grown accustomed.Anyone that does not wish to live within a society is free to live elsewhere or to attempt to change the society through persuasion or other means the society allows.
Yeah well, Mr Technician is jus' a talking sheet.Wanting choice over updates has little to do with social behavior. That is unless you think there is a social bond between the User and PC.
We're aware of this, (Although not in such great detail (y)). There are a few M$ shills here who seem to be in a state of denial though!Microsoft also added a lot more to your Windows "experience"... look here [link: http://www.tweaktown.com/news/50308...microsoft-ip-addresses-5500-times/index.html]
You're new to these forums, not so? Nevermind, stick around and you'll get used to it. FYI most forum members are not very pro Apple.Name calling and denigration is always an effective tool for lashing out. In the old days before I upgraded to Mac, I used to have to manually check for Windows updates, an always on feature (considering the 100s of security patches they always push out) is a legitimate issue.
On my MAC I have the App Store settings set to manually check (Just like you used to be able to do with Windows).
"Those who Know, Shoyld say....Those who don't, should not"
In all honesty, if I were even remotely interested in "upgrading to Windows 10", (note the "shock quotes"), I'd image the drive with Windows 7 fully patched beforehand.6. On update page, advanced options, select defer upgrades because if you don't , the next one will take out
all of these except classic shell and put back all the garbage!! It happened to me but fortunately had a close
restore point and backup and now OK.
Well no, not simplistic. IIRC, if I want "Windows Classic", (using Win 7), a quick trip to the control panel should do it,and you get to kill automatic updates while you're there. All a bit simplistic but at least I get an OS suitable for what I do and no MS intrusion.
Possessiveness, is insecurity expressed as love (*). That ain't much, but very often, it's the best you can hope for...OMG, you are on a tech site talking about tech, and you have to make note to your wife that you are not cheating. That almost sounds like you would be better off talking to a divorce lawyer instead of some tech forum.
Clifford is self admittedly bad at picking up sarcasm. Sometimes I miss it intentionally. It appears you don't recognize a joke. Are they not allowed on tech forums?
Jokes are allowed, women are not!It appears you don't recognize a joke. Are they not allowed on tech forums?
I'm not so sure these shysters you see on late night TV don't make house calls....After 57 years of happy marriage with three kids and six grandchildren so far, think I've left it a bit late for a divorce lawyer!

(Dear lord, I'll probably have to listen to a raft of s*** for that remark).
So well put it deserves another read.Actually Windows 10 has more to do with a social engineering malware stunt than it does with the "gift" M$ is selling it as. The point being, Windows has always been a free standing, buy a license, and use in private computer OS, and we would like to either stay at, or return to, that state of autonomy. Windows isn't Android, so save the "app store" s***, for the mobile phone set.
So yes, we are free to "change the society", by not genuflecting to whichever sociopath is in charge of M$ at any given moment. But the longer the wait in trying to do so, the higher the odds against success become.
Now, I argued with people here against Vista, Windows 8, & 8.1, and now Windows 10. Thus far, I've been vindicated about the first three.
So please, spout all the sociological dogma you choose. Bear in mind, capitulating to "auto save is our salvation", really isn't in my wheelhouse. But, studying novels about "dystopian societies" and sociology itself, is.
Um, and then there's this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda_techniques I enjoy going back to this page at Wiki from time to time. You know, to keep it fresh in my aging brain...
Thanks. Its only obvious that setting autosave to automatically save a file will cause the file to be saved automatically. So well put it deserves another read.
Thanks for the passive aggressive insult, guess I'm just too dumb to 'see the light'. As per my first post "It works for you so it logically must be great for everybody. And anyone that disagrees must just be an *#@^%&*. " BTW the argument is not whether autosave works or how to enable it, but the lack of transparency of Microsoft, that they act in a way that it is clear that they think they know what is best for us and their willingness to force their practices upon us since they have a monopoly on mainstream PC use. As someone else put it, we have ever increasingly 'no place to run'.Thanks. Its only obvious that setting autosave to automatically save a file will cause the file to be saved automatically.
Well, obvious to most thinking computer users.
Actually, as least if you're not merely playing stupid (*), I think he was referring to my response.Thanks. Its only obvious that setting autosave to automatically save a file will cause the file to be saved automatically.

No issues here. The last windows 10 cumulated update complete screwed up all my settings and took out the programs that I had installed to stop the insiduous connections and information sending to MS plus the rest of the garbage that W10 installs together with their default settings. Fortunately I was able to system restore to prior to the update and all now ok and updates set to deferred. Microsoft is turning into a dictatorship!!
