Microsoft details why Windows 11 will be faster than Windows 10

Have they fixed the bug where if you drag windows with file explorer in the background the mouse lags when at high polling rate(500hz+)? It's pretty frustrating.
I've had mouse lagging and don't use Explorer. I use a third party file manager. I had assumed it was related to Defender running in the background and currently have it disabled. At first I thought it was my Windows getting overbloated. So my first step in trying to fix was to reinstall Windows. That didn't work either.

My PC is not supporting W11 but I feel like a lots of people are kind of panicking. I am pretty sure that MS is expecting most of the people to upgrade after like 24-25 closer to end of W10 support.

And most of the OEM PCs/laptos already have TPM 2.0 so it should be okay.
Someone will invent something to bypass the usual Microsoft's idiocy. It has happened before and it will happen in the future too. Nobody should worry then.

Yeah but.....graphs!

Microsoft lied? OMFG! That's something that they've never done before! ;)

Then you've never used MS-DOS 3.3 because that OS was 100% bug-free. Then they came out with MS-DOS 4.0 and that was the end of that.

This "negativity" is only truly unexplainable for newbies who haven't seen this play out since Windows 95. For everyone who has been around since the days of MS-DOS, this "negativity" has another name; "realism".

Don't be an early adopter. Keep using 10 until the word is out on 11. Trusting the words of Microsoft is akin to trusting a crack addict with your sister.
Yes, as regards moving to Linux or Macs, this argument is just valid if your productivity scheme is not complex. If it is complex (like mine), the move is not so simple. You need to investigate what software is compatible for your work. It is not an easy thing. I use an IDE like Dreamweaver for some works, for example, and I cannot find any other IDE like it even in Windows. So, it is no so simple to move to other operating systems if your productivity scheme is complex. Hence, the typical: "It is a free world, move to Linux or Mac" argument is not always valid or easy to implement.

I am scared sh!tless to upgrade anything with M$ because they have such a bad history in doing something right the first time.
So I have one computer with XP, one with win7 and one with 10, and I will do my best never to upgrade....

I was actually afraid they would keep their word in that regard, I never was a fan of Windows 10 and hoped they would continue making new versions cause one day they'll get it right.

They got it right with Windows 7, then intentionally destroyed the interface, then made Windows into spyware that installs whatever Microsoft wants to install on your computer.

I've been using w11 since the first version...yes sure it took a little to adapt to the new taskbar, hehe. Even now I want to rclick on it for task manager, but all and all I like the looks, the start menu without those stupid tiles that I absolutely hate, the rounded window corner, and the fact that you can automaticly divide your screen into areas for apps. I can't say that the ram usage is changed, for me the ram requirements w10 had were maybe a bit too low, because even with 4gb of ram sometimes it struggled, especially if you owned a hard-drive. About the change in requirements...well I can see why that is an issue for some players, but they said you can basically install it and never get any updates, and as many of you said you kinda hate the auto-update thing so to keep you updated you can use https://uupdump.net/ and basically make a bootable drive with it. Me I'm using an external hdd enclosure with an 120gb ssd as a windows instalation drive and it's done in maybe 5 minutes.

What play? This is a free upgrade right and you can use Windows 10 if you don't want to buy new hardware? Even your explanation is, that to understand the bashing of Microsoft people should have been around back in the nineties, so basically you don't even offer an explanation, because there is none. The hating and bashing for the sake of it is one explanation I tend to believe in, since companies always market their stuff by exaggerating and anybody's favourite company is no different. Power up your Mac and chill out is what I recommend.
I still remember 98, ME, Vista, and 8. Sure, I badmouth Microsoft and they deserve it. Being the lesser of two evils between Microsoft and Apple doesn't necessarily make one good.

I half agree with you. I think that MS got the look right with Windows 7 but nothing matches the functionality of Windows XP Pro. I'd love to see a version that's as functional with the wide software compatibility of XP Pro that looks as pretty as Windows 7.

Windows 8 was so ugly to look at that I couldn't bear to use it and still never have.

Its a beta there is a whole lot more telemetry being collected in the beta and dev builds than there will be in the final build so it is somewhat crippled in terms of performance.
I have to cry baloney on your statement, but only in terms of statistics. The telemetry does make a difference but it slows you about 0.01% with a fast internet connection. So would 99.9% of users see this difference?

windows xp x64.. was bomb

Using Microsoft's numbers, approved hardware crashes 0.2% of the time, while older hardware crashes 0.3% of the time.

My 4 year old i7 hasn't had a crash yet - so what are they talking about? Besides, I need something slow enough to play my older games that won't run on its newer replacement. Also, some countries simply do not get the modern tech builds until they are out of date, so international take-up is likely to be a bit slow.

ive had 3 crashes. all of them green screen of death-kernel security check failure. other than that been good

A couple of days ago I made the upgrade. The windows 11 upgrade assistant said no at first. I tried the bypass requirements Reg edit, but this didn’t work for me. I then updated the firmware on my ASUS motherboard Rog Strix Z370 egamimg. Still no go, and discovered I had legacy MBR partition that was holding me out. I had to convert to GPT. (These last two issues cost me hours of googling for a solution, and a little stressed out when carrying the operations in case it all went wrong). Finally I had to undo my previous reg edit to get the final windows 11 go ahead. The actual upgrade took about 45 mins.
So what can I say? It all went well in the end. everything still works. It looks and feels better. I love the less cluttered right click option

Now I want to upgrade my daughters PC which I use a lot. It’s a newer PC than mine, with tonnes of memory, lots of space and solid state hard drive, but the processor is a step down and the assistant says no. Quite frustrating really
