Solved Microsoft Essentials Keeps Turning Off

Thank you so so much! My computer is as quick as it ever was and Chrome has not crashed since I notified you!

I'll update you as to whether I get another blue screen, but other than that everything is cool. Thanks again.

OK so my computer is still nice and speedy and everything, and Chrome is fine and Essentials hasn't turned itself off again, but I have a had another random blue screen.

Download BlueScreenView
Unzip downloaded file.
Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

You may have RAM issues.

A. If you have more than one RAM module installed, try starting computer with one RAM stick at a time.

NOTE Keep in mind, the manual check listed above is always superior to the software check, listed below. DO NOT proceed with memtest, if you can go with option A

B. If you have only one RAM stick installed...
...run memtest...

1. Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip
2. Unzip downloaded memtest86+-....iso.zip file.
3. Inside, you'll find memtest86+-....iso file.
4. Download, and install ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/
5. Insert blank CD into your CD drive.
6. Open ImgBurn, and click on Write image file to disc
7. Click on Browse for a file... icon:

8. Locate memtest86+-....iso file, and click Open button.
9. Click on ImgBurn green arrow to start burning bootable memtest86 CD:

10. Once the CD is created, boot from it, and memtest will automatically start to run.

The running program will look something like this depending on the size and number of ram modules installed:

It's recommended to run 5-6 passes. Each pass contains very same 8 tests.

This will show the progress of the test. It can take a while. Be patient, or leave it running overnight.

The following image is the test results area:

The most important item here is the “errors” line. If you see ANY errors, even one, most likely, you have bad RAM.

This computer was given to me by a friend and so I don't really know it's hardware specs. Also I'm not really any sort of expert so how do I "start my computer with one RAM stick at a time"? And how do I find out if I have more than one module installed?

You have to open computer case and remove all sticks but one.
Run computer for a while and see if another BSOD happens.
If not replace first stick with another one and so on...

OK cool. I don't want to sound rude or anything, but would there be any easier way to do this? Just because my computer has only blue screened twice within the last two weeks of extremely regular use. If I were to do as you suggested it could potentially take months of me leaving my computer on which I do not want to do for obvious reasons. Anything at all?

You can try to run memtest.
It won't be 100% definitive result but it may find something.

When I try to boot of the CD it shows a quick flash of the memtest screen and then restarts. It loops that until I boot normally again.

No luck with BurnCDCC. Also, having booted from a CD a few times now, something in the BIOS must have changed because I'm getting a CPU fan error when I start up my PC. I simply restart and then it's fine. I have set the BIOS to default settings after the first time this happened and it still continues.

And my computer just blue screened again. This time with a different message. Something like "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area"

That again looks like RAM issue.

I guess you're back to option 1.

A. If you have more than one RAM module installed, try starting computer with one RAM stick at a time.

If I find out which RAM stick isn't working, will I have to purchase a replacement? Or might it be corrected in the BIOS? (I've heard the voltage settings can be lowered to fix similar problems? Or the overclocking can be the cause?)

Anyway, I've opened up my case and all I see is a mess of wires and plates and I really don't know what I'm looking for and I don't really want to mess with what I don't understand. What do you want me to do exactly?

You don't fix RAM.
You buy a new one.
RAM is cheap these days.

As for your question...
What's your computer brand and model?

Not familiar with this brand but I found a picture on the internet.

RAM should be located on the indicated area:
