So Windows 11 is "old software" because it contains legacy code? Linux also contains 20 - 30 year old code. MacOS contains decades old Unix, BSD and NeXTSTEP code. Android has legacy code.

OneDrive can be uninstalled in Control Panel->Programs->Uninstall a program, Settings->Apps, and in PowerShell. The nags can be disabled in Edge settings, there is also a registry hack to disable it. Enable "Do not disturb" in Settings->System->Notifications->Do not disturb. Will help eliminate the nags. Using WinToys you can uninstall Edge, Bing and Copilot.

Sure, until an update enables that nonsense. I switched to Linux over 3 years ago at this point. Everyone has all these tips to make W11 work and then it works for awhile, the an update happens and lots of this stuff has to be done over again anyway. I'm done with windows and I invested the time to learn Linux so that I will never have to use it again outside of the laptop my work makes me use. I invested the time to learn a skill and leaning that skill has paid dividends. Considering that MS is constantly moving crap around arbitrarily anyway I didn't waste any more time learning Linux than Microsoft would have wasted of mine.
And here is the thing, I constantly see everyone talking about which method of debloating windows is the best. I have not worried about bloat in over 3 years. I hldo not have to participate in these arguments because I solved this issue permanently 3 years ago

I just moved to Linux because they want to implement digital ID. The more they move the goal posts, the easier it is for me to go to an alternative.
Honestly, I should have moved sooner, it's been a smooth transition and so easy to use. I'm going to be recommending all my business clients (I work in IT and repair/build a lot of computers) to not touch apple or windows. Maybe even throw in a GrapheneOS. The more that move away from these anti-consumer corporate WEF riding pedo elite controlled monopolies, the harder we are to control.

I got to find out the hard way. In October last year, ESU enrollment compromised my machine. Microsoft required a PIN that had never been issued nor wanted or requested, and threw me out of my local account. I watched it closing everything down, and then got back in just before it could complete. Just as well because that process removed local password, putting me at direct risk of never being able to access MY DATA on MY perfectly LEGITIMATE computer again. My computer remains in that broken state today because I couldn't fix it. I think (hope) a full reinstallation will resolve it but have too many other things requiring my time since then. But I'm so over Microsoft now. I had a 365 subscription I was using locally too. Several months after that episode, Microsoft stopped me being able to use my FULLY PAID UP 365 subscription, preventing me from accessing my database. That subscription doesn't run out until November, yet I can't use it because Microsoft effed up my computer so much the ESU failed, it's still stuck in Windows 10, and it's just not safe to use online as a direct result of their eff-up. Not only that but all the other crap Microsoft has subjected me to over the years that has taken up a ridiculous amount of my time to resolve, not least its desire to commoditize every user for their data for its own unsolicited gain. When I can eventually get it fixed, I will. I won't be reinstalling Windows again. I'm done with Microsoft forever. I managed to get most of it running again in the current state, but was left with a persistent TPM issue which shows up every time the computer is restarted, and the USB drives don't work as well - apparently the TPM is related to the USB ports in some way. I can only run the computer in a limited way which currently means getting what data I can from it when I need it for now.
I would agree, and indeed, "unofficially free" has been their strategy since 10. In the past, Bill Gates has even commented that piracy helped Windows.
IoT LTSC is working well for me. Windows' problems could be fixed next week if they wanted to: put the control into users' hands; make telemetry optional and off by default; rewrite sluggish parts of the shell in Win32; make LTSC-like minimalism the baseline for all versions. That's about it and complaints should, mostly, cease.

Strictly speaking, editing a Registry value is touching an implementation detail not exposed through a user-facing setting.
For example, a program stores its "don't check for updates" in the Registry as a DWORD, "dwUpdateCheck." Users modify the DWORD. The program later changes it to "uc" or moves settings to a local configuration file, breaking the previous tweaking.

Good luck with that if Chekov's TPM or FIDO2 (some of the 'new hardware') throw a key revocation or other software update into your existing license. Of course you're welcome to throw TPM(2.x ... n) supervision software in there without first having Congress or A Congress revoke DCMA and any progeny.

(for working activescript and some AD features,) but might deliver a different Docker/VM mode instead.
They hate the software so much, for so many reasons, but pirate it so they can use it?
Use it, pay for it. It really is that ****ing simple.
Pirate it, pay the legal price.
We will not go on to a place where citizens can be a bunch of thieves just because they consider themselves freedom fighters.

Windowz is the worst OS in the world. Linux and MacOS are the very best today. I stopped using poopie Windowz in 2017.

I agree. TPM is Microsoft's camels nose under the tent. It will eventually be used to validate everything in your computer. Not just a windows license.

My personal opinion. You want to know why people pirate Windows? Because of how crap it is in the current state. You basically took everything that made Windows 7 the best and removed it. There is also, in my experience, the bad support for AMD. I had no issues in Linux with drivers etc, cannot say the same about Windows. I do not have massive problems, but some do occur now and again. Another fact is, for continued support for Windows 10, people have to pay, which is a bad business practice; not even gonna go into hot patching and updates of MS software like Outlook that would enable purge folders while online when changing folders every time outlook update. God knows why that is even a thing but I had clients lose email because of this.
FYI: there is a company that takes Windows 11 updates and roll it back up to Windows 7, and they are doing it for free. You know crap is bad when a 3rd party does your job.

there are also around 4 versions of Linux that will work with all your Windows APP's excepting office, but then who cares... linux has always ruled the "It works world"..
