Microsoft is working on tighter security measures for Windows after the CrowdStrike disaster

Jesus chris all it needs is windows to be ''aware'' there is a bsod loop and then try to replace the driver if it is a microsoft file, or disable if it is not a microsoft driver

Yep. Or after repeated bsod, launch into a secure remote access available recovery OS linked to the TPM with a ton of encryption and access only available by enterprise that owns the equipment. Bsod being utterly unrecoverable unless manual intervention in person is an absolute joke in 2024

Microsoft cares about Windows operating systems and making zillions. The end user is not really a concern. I'm just about to move on to Linux Mint, on my laptop, and try out a new Linux operating system on my desktop. However, I do wish Microsoft continued success, so that the would be hackers, will continue to attack Microsoft, leaving Linux, pretty much alone. Not to mention, that Microsoft, is just about as intrusive into our privacy as China-Google is...

Just random scrolling of comments as I have no monster in this fight

But I think your idea is a great idea for many people

Ie If you are say a windows user. Instal Linux especially on an old lap tap, maybe struggling with all the new stuff.
Chances are you do your power stuff , AAA gaming on your PC. You can learn LInux OS , see if it's light , responsive and suits you.

Plus if you know how to harden your laptop, and just use it your mission critical stuff like banking etc , with nothing else installed, you really limit your attack area

Most people run their Windows in Admin

... This situation exposes the weaknesses in their current approach to resilience and security. Despite efforts to innovate, the reliability of Windows updates remains questionable. Enhancing kernel access restrictions might be necessary, but it also reflects poorly on their past decisions and ongoing strategies.
It's looking like resilience has been sacrificed in the name of security. There's no way so many systems should be able to be updated with a single keystroke.

Zcolor , the more Linux users the more Linux attacks .
I think that's why I said,----------> "However, I do wish Microsoft continued success, so that the would be hackers, will continue to attack Microsoft, leaving Linux, pretty much alone."
