Monitor doesn't turn on after I put in my new graphics card

Hi, I bought a new graphics card: ATI Radeon 9250 (AGP) and I plugged it into my AGP slot after removing my old NVIDIA Geforece3 Ti 500 graphics card and its drivers. When I turn on the power supply with my new graphics card in my monitor doesn't turn on and remains on standby mode. I made sure that everything is plugged in properly. Is there a way of allowing me to fix this problem so I can carry on with installing the drivers?

Here is my system overview:

Nope i see absoloutly nothing not even a BIOS screen, I was wondering whether my motherboard is thinking that the ATI graphics card is still an Nvidia, but im not sure. However on my screen when i remove grahpics cards it says on the screen 'Please check signal cable' and like my old graphics card when I plug in the VGA cable to the new graphics card the screen goes back into standby mode.

Does the old graphics card still give you video? If so, the monitor is okay. Replace the ATI card or test it in another computer
