New M/B, CPU and RAM compatibility

Hi all,

Im planning to upgrade my PC right now and decided to buy a new CPU (as it is bottlenecking my system atm). But as I currently have an i5 760, I need to buy a new mobo and RAM too.

So I was thinking of this combo:
Intel Core i5-8400
Asus Z370 Prime-A
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000MHz

Just wondering if there could be any compatibility issues with those all together or would that work fine?

Nice set up! Go to https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRIME-Z370-A/HelpDesk_QVL/ and download the memory compatibility list to see if the memory you want to get is listed. Other than checking that, your setup will be fine. Have fun upgrading!

Thank you! I checked the memory compatibility doc and it is listed, so should be fine.
My current system has lasted me since 2011, so this upgrade will hopefully take me to 2025 haha

Just in case you didn't buy the mobo yet, look into these it has better technical support and better build quality then asus.
