New motherboard, have to reinstall windows

Hello all,

This is my first post so hopefully I won't screw it up. I put in a new motherboard (abit) and now it won't boot up. So I was told I had to do a repair install of windows xp for the new board. I boot from cd, select "r" and after it loads up its files I get the blue screen that says an error has occured and that I need to turn off my antivirus and disk defragmenter.

How do I turn off the antivirus and defragmenter if I can't even boot up? Can anyone help me with this????

I tried pressing enter instead of "r" and it still gave me the same blue screen message about my antivirus and defragmenter.
