We’ve seen so many Google-branded products accidentally ‘leak’ onto the Google Play store that you begin to wonder if they aren’t intentional. Last week it was the Nexus 5 that briefly appeared on the site and now the Nexus 10 is the latest to surface – albeit briefly – on Google Play.

The Nexus 10 was online just long enough for everyone to jot down all the juicy specifications which include a 10-inch display operating at a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600. The slate will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor paired with 3GB of system RAM, 32GB of internal flash storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter and a massive 9500mAh battery.

It also includes the standard array of connectivity options and sensors including Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, a barometer, compass, ambient light sensor, gyroscope and accelerometer. Physical dimensions include a chassis that is 7.9mm thin and weighs just 584 grams.

And of course, the machine will ship with the brand new version of Android 4.4 known as KitKat. The tablet is expected to arrive just in time to go head-to-head against Apple’s new iPad Air although the two likely won’t be competing on level playing ground as far as retail price is concerned.

Apple’s iPad Air will start at $499 for a 16GB Wi-Fi only version and while we don’t know a solid price for the Nexus 10, at least one publication believes it could debut under the $300 mark.

The linked review from phonearena.com already has an update that states that this is most likely fake.

A brand-new 10" tablet from Google to debut under $300.00? LOL. I seriously doubt it but if it does it will probably be my very first tablet purchase. That would be a pretty good deal.

I started with Android tablets back in 2010 prior to that Android Tablet start 2007 for model was huge box for testing. Today with the market is getting so nasty with Microsoft, Apple and Google trying their best to get consumers to buy their tablets. But the low price, features, micro-SDXC slot and applications are the key to success here. But only third-party Google Android Tablet have the SD slot option not Google, but Microsoft does, and not Apple. 10-inch tablet is a must, 7-inch with wide screen is more ideal if your need one smaller than 10-inch. Again prices should be outrageous for these devices, but they're starting to get that way.

Shouldn't the quotes be over "accidentally" rather than "leaks?" Or possibly over both. Either way, the Nexus 10 is pretty decent, I may pick one up before the years end. Probably time I upgrade from my original Asus Transformer (TF101).

<$300? Interesting, I wonder what AU tax this will get. I still hate the stupid phablet UI that takes away precious screen real-estate. :(

Pretty sure this is fake, but an official announcement shouldn't be too far away

Does anybody know which manufacturer it is yet? I think LG is the favourite.
$300 does sound very cheap but I think the Nexus 4 was also launched at a cheap price?

I'm eagerly waiting for this release. Hoping I will have it by christmas. But if it's too expensive I'll look for bargains on the current Nexus 10 instead as reviews still rate it highly.

Google is trying to buy up the market (not to make a sizable profit) and outcompete cheap crappy android devices - improving the install base of quality android devices. Its why the Nexus 4 was so cheap.

Not a CHANCE this launches under $300. Anyone who thinks that's even remotely possible is out of their mind. Even under $400 won't happen. $449 and $499, that's my prediction.
