Hi,

Basically, whenever i try to get sound that message comes up.

I think it happened when i removed something off 'add/remove programs.' I thought it was something else, but i believe it was something that i definately do need!
I have microsoft XP.

Any ideas??? I'm in the middle of a music degree so i need a cure to this ASAP.

Many thanks in advance.

if you're using the on-board sound,re-install the sound driver (CD)
that comes with your motherboard.

if you're using a PCI sound card,re-install the driver (CD) that comes
with the product or go to your hardware manufacturer's website
& download the latest version of the driver.

you can look inside your tower & look if there's a card
that's inserted/plugged in to your PCI slots.

a pci slot looks like this (click the link).

you might see other device in those slots if you have a NIC card.

a sound card has audio outputs (holes) with different colors.
(blue, green, pink, orange, black) you can refer at the back of
your tower & see if you can find them.

this is an example of a sound card (click the link).
