Hi. I have a serious problem with my computer and badly need help.
I have a customised desktop. I had it assembled at the store i bought the parts from. Now the problem is that my monitor does not display anything on the LCD and the PC switches on just fine. The monitor shows only 1 thing: "No Signal" My specs are: a asus m4a79t deluxe mb, amd phenom II 955 be(black edition), thermaltake 700W pwr supply, thermaltake V9 case, G skill ram 4gb, 500gb WD HDD, LG Disk drive, and lastly, a acer P235H monitor.
i have checked all the wires inside and outside. All of them seem to be plugged in just fine. i have used this desktop for almost a year now and this is the first time m facing such a problem. Oh, and 1 more thing, my keyboard is wireless(logitech) and when press the num lock ket it lights on the censor but when i press the caps lock key, it doesnt have any effect.
Please help me!

Try checking the pins on the VGA slot on the back of pc they might be a bent pin.

As for the keyboard and mouse first thing to check is the batteries then try reinstalling the software for the keyboard and mouse and check that is upto date.

Hi. Thank you very much for replying.
But you see, the problem is no with the batteries, see, if i press the num lock it works but if i press the caps lock, it doesnt. So i guess there is absolutely no problem with the batteries. As for the VGA, i'm using a DVI-VGA converter thing and that seems to be fine too. Any ohter reason this might be happening??

Your graphics card may have failed. Can you try another in its place or can you try your card in another PC?

Ok. But do I have to install any CD to make my graphics card run in my friend's PC?? And how can i tell if my hard drive crashed or not. I think that could also be the problem right??

Hey, i remembered something, umm.. a few days before i had the problem, my PC used to get stuck very often while i was playing GTA 4. It would just get stuck on one scene and the audio would go off then i had to restart the PC and it was working fine after that then the nesxt day i played GTA 4 again, the same problem occured. Does this prove that my graphics card was facing BSOD?? Blue Screen Of Death??

But do I have to install any CD to make my graphics card run in my friend's PC??
It depends on whether you're are trying to run the same brand of GPU, ATI or Nvidia. If it's different, you should uninstall the old graphics driver before installing the new card. I would use the latest driver found at the ATI/AMD or Nvidia website.

I'm not sure I understand your BSOD question. Did you get a BSOD?

Hey Guys, thanks a lot for the help. I have found out the problem. It was regarding my RAM i just had to pull it out and start it and then install it and start it again. I was told of this solution by a friend but he did not know the cause of this thing and how removing and reinstalling the RAM would fix the error. Do you know what might have gone wrong?

The RAM might be faulty.

I would be running your RAM on memtest overnight to make sure its error free.

OK, ArjunDhanak212 , sounds like you have possible faults with your memory and may be the hard drive as well, there are other things that can cause slow boot times but first I would run both these tests to be sure it is not a hardware problem then you can look for other causes like bad drivers or malware.

Reseating the memory may have just proved that you had a bad connection it would not have cured faulty RAM. Just to be sure it is seated correctly follow the first part of the guide to clean the sticks, also do this with your graphics card, if you have one.

Sounds like you also have a faulty keyboard, try to borrow one for a while and see if has any effect.

Power off the PC and remove the mains connection, always touch the metal of the case with your hands to avoid any static electricity from causing component damage. (On laptops ALWAYS remove the battery before removing or replacing memory modules). Remove all your memory modules. Clean the contacts with a soft rubber (up and down not from end to end) then insert just one module and reboot to test for any change in performance. Repeat this for every module one at a time. Obviously if you only have one module this cannot be done, but you should still remove and clean the module and reseat it and test.

If you only have one stick download this to test it. http://www.memtest.org/

You need to scroll down the page until you see the three blue screenshots. Just below is the list of downloads for Memtest86+ V4.10. Click on Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)and save to your desktop, When the download is complete right click the file and select Extract Here and burn the image to a CD. In windows 7 right click the extracted file, select Open With, then select Windows Disc Image Burning Tool then follow the prompts. For all other versions of windows (if you do not have an ISO burner) download this free software. http://www.isoimageburner.com/

Boot the PC into the Bios setup and set the CD/DVD drive to 1st in the boot sequence. Insert the disk in the drive then reboot and the disc will load into dos. Leave the test to run through at least 5 cycles.

The memtest will not be 100% accurate but should easily detect any major faults.

Identify the make of your hard drive and then use one of the links below to get the manufacturers diagnostic for ISO CD. Burn the image file to a CD, boot the PC with the disc in the drive and run the diagnostics. You first need to set the CD drive to 1st in the boot order in the Bios setup.

If you do not have an image burner use this free software to make the CD.
