Not Able to Delete Shortcut

Hello,

On my desktop I have a shortcut to a MS KB article that appears to be corrupted. It no longer shows the shortcut arrow and the icon is the standard one with MS flag. Tried deleting it in regular mode as well as safe mode, neither one worked. Also not able to drag and drop it in the trash.
When right clicking and then Properties I get the following message;
"The properties for this item are not available."
Anyone have any idea how to get rid of this shortcut?
Running W2000PRO and IE6.

aint it a bugg*r when this happens, the only way I found to get rid of it was to connect the drive to another machine and delete it that way.

Try renaming the file and then deleting it. I had a similar problem with a file recently on XP. I renamed it and then was able to delete it. Also, check permissions.
