Not booting

ok some one brought around a presario c700
it starts to boot then goes to blue screen, so can i get some thing to reset the bootstrap ????
as the restore is on the hard drive that will not work

ok had root about and it has a #45 crc error
can i fix this with software for free help me. sos sos
the hdd is w/d

I don't suppose the notebook came with a recovery CD?

yes but it was still on the hdd that went wrong
no he did not burn a cd off when he got the laptop like you would - go figure!

There is recovery partition for such issue and windows 7 restore points
