I have no problem with Nvidia mildly tweaking Pascal, then just shrinking it on a refined process. Dump those 5,000+ Volta cores from Titan V on a chip minus the deep learning stuff for the high end GPUs.
So you get a couple cards. One equal to and one a bit faster than the GTX1080ti at the top of the range. GTX1080 performance becomes midrange, 150w TDP or whatever while GTX1060 refresh becomes low end ~100w.
All this sounds perfectly great to me, because it's not like AMD have anything good coming for the next 12 months lets face it!
The only thing anyone really wants are the prices to reflect a normal generation shift like that (I.e they all drop down by a big chunk), which they probably won't.
