OCZ SSD and MSI 890fxa-gd70 BIOS hang

I have a msi 890fxa-gd70 mobo with phenom III six core. The bios (v1.6 which seems to be the latest update) finds my seagate hard drive and dvd writer without any problem. But when I hook up my OCZ Agility 120 gb ssd, the bios hangs "searching".

I tried having only the ssd attached or any other combination and it always turns out the same. bios recognizes the seagate and dvd but never the ssd and always hangs when the ssd is attached.

Is this a msi-ocz thing? Bad ssd?

Thanks

try a different port... some are specialized for RAID and other data technologies. if that doesn't work you might consider a BIOS update or just exchange the drive first. power shouldn't be a problem as SSDs use very little power to operate.

a bad ssd

Yeah, the bios is up to date (went to the mobo website and the latest ver they have is the latest ver I have. I also tried three different ports and two different cables.
Then I tried it in an hp I have and got the exact same hang up, so I'm sending it back.
Thanks for your help-- nice to know I'm looking at the right solutions first.
