Outlook Express problem

Hi Everyone I am new here and having problems with my OE. I receive lots of attachments from friends and have encountered this problem. This file does not have a progrma associated with it for performing this task. Create an Association in the Folder Options in the Control Panel. I am not really good at doing things with my computer but have lots of attachments that I really wanted to look at and had to just delete them because I did not know how to fix the problem. The OE is 6.0. Sure would appreciate any help that anyone might be able to give me.

Firstly, you have to have a program installed that can open
that file type.eg .ppt opens with Microsoft Power Point
.doc - Microsoft Word There`s a list of extensions HERE
and explanation HERE

Save the attachment to the desktop and right click on it.
Select "open with" then "choose program".
Then select the program that can open that file extension,
and check the box that says "always open with this program".

To add a new extension or change the action associated with it
you can also go to Control Panel/FolderOptions/File Types and click
on "New" to add an extension or "Change"to change the program associated with it.
