for some strange unknown reason my pc keep crashing. ive no idea whats causin it. whats actually happenin is once booted the screen freezes, no input works, mouse or keyboard etc. this happens sometimes during boot, an at random times. longest its been up is 5h2m.

things ive tried-- removed graphics card, removed sound card, disconnected other IDE drives (HDD an DVD/cd), tried new psu, tried default ps/2 mouse any keyboard. tried takin ram out an swappin it around the slots.
apart from changin mobo an cpu ive run out of ideas.

anyone got any ideas?

oh yeh an its not a virus as ive even formatted an used 2 diff HDDs still same problem

Test the RAM with Memtest. Best to try this overnight, unless you expect a freeze within a few minutes.

yup already did that aswell, an no errors but still same problem, ive done a cpu test aswell an nothin wrong there so it seems but ive narrowed it down to cpu, cpu fan/heatsink speed, or mobo.

Anything in the Event Viewer to indicate a software issue/hardware conflict?

Upgraded video drivers?

specs are AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 2.1Ghz, 256mb AGP radeon 9550, 1.25GB ram, 40gb primary, 160gb primary slave, DVD-+RW secondary, 40gb secondary slave, WIN XP MCE OS. mobo is ASRock K7S41.

Im prob gonna jus get a new mobo an processor, should solve it, cos im gettin fed up now lol

rite ive had a new cpu in an it seems that the motherboard bus speed isnt workin properly. when i set the bus speed for the cpu to 166mhz in the bios the pc crashes or wont boot. but when its set lower at 133Mhz it seems fine. so ive run out of ideas, and money at the mo. any other ideas or suggestions would be helpful an appreciated
