I have a laptop that takes upwards of 20 minutes to an hour to post. (with a rare boot up that goes through completely)
Ran Memtest86, came up clean.
The laptop is very new, two years ago new.
It's a Gateway NE56R52u.
I've actually swapped memory on the machine with memory at the same clock speed. 2gb x2 at 798 MHz and it rejected it. Did a full on one stick of 4gb, rejected. Tried 8? Rejected. It would not boot with RAM that did not come with it.
So we're down to the Motherboard and the CPU in a laptop. Which I'm thinking isn't exactly worth saving if it's both. We got my mom a chromebook since so, it's something. I just wonder if I could save this machine at all.
