Power Supply

I have an ATX motherboard, my power supply went out, I have a spare power supply that is for a 10 pin main power connector, my motherboard has a 12 pin main power connector. Will it hurt to run the 10 pin power supply.

just to make sure we are on the same subject..
10 pin power supply - do you mean 20 pin (10 rows with 2 pins each)
12 pin power supply - 24 pin (12 rows with 2 pins)

if the case is above mentioned ... the 20 pin connector could have an additional 4 pin addon.... to make it a complete 24 pin connector .. if not purchase a new power supply...

The 20 pin connectors were replaced by 24 pin connectors with the intoduction of the Pentium4 processor (if i'm not mistaken)...
