problems with nba live 2004

I just bought nba live 2004. It installed and everything, but when I start the game, it flicks into the game, flicks a couple more times, then goes right back into windows. I meet all the system requirement. I got a celeron 1.0 ghz processor, more than the needed 128mb ram, 44x cd-rom, tons of harddrive room, a geforce 2 32mb, and direct x9. What's wrong?
