Setting out to build faster build for a friend of mine, we did a quick cost comparison.
Assumptions:
Yes, we know that 8400 comes with a fan, using Intel HSF, not going to happen.
Was really shocked how close the over-clockable i5 was to the 1600x in the overall price although we could go with cheaper AM4 board obviously, the one chosen for features was $120.
Thoughts? Comments?
Assumptions:
- PC will be built once inventory levels stabilize after first of the year
- CPU's will not be overclocked Cryorig M9a/I
- There will be no gaming on machine, strictly work-related only 1080p resolution
- All other components will be the same: case, ps, memory ddr4-2666, SSDs
- Video card used for Ryzen, Nvidia GT 1030
