I am not sure what you mean with your question (but hey, I am not a pro).

You mean your Windows say´s the driver you want to use or are using isn´t windows certified?

Then you can skip that part - use the driver - it´s just that not all vendors want to pay for the process of getting them certified (that´s what I am being told).

If I got it wrong please state more details.

Cheers

yeah dude, not sure what you mean about the certificate, but as far as the wireless utility goes, unless you're getting into some tricky stuff, i'd just let windows take care of it and make sure you have the right driver for your WLAN card. that should be on any discs you got with your laptop.

if not, you should be able to get them from somewhere online. or as a last resort, use the drivers from winxp.

in future, it might be a good idea to put your current drivers to one side before you format using a program like 'DriverGrabber' so then at least if you dont get the latest updated drivers, you have your original ones to fall back on.
