Remote access issue

Hi

My friend has just bought a new Acer laptop and I'm trying to connect to it using Team Viewer so I can set it up for her

The problem is that her computer is not letting team viewer or any other program initiate a remote connection.

When team viewer is started the following message appears:



"No connection to team viewer server

Check your Internet connection, most likely you are using a proxy server and you have to enter the proper information in the options dialog."



I have made sure that remote access is checked in system properties and windows firewall has an exception for team viewer.



As I say this is a new laptop running Windows 10 home with default settings.



Any help would be much appreciated

She's running Windows 10 home with the latest fall update. We have tried it again with the vpn (private internet access) off and she didn't get a pass key to give me With her vpn on it works every time I am running Windows 10 home also and also use PIA vpn. Most strange ......
