Renaming folder with .net as a part of it.

hi,
i am having number of folders with .net as a part of there name. but when i try to rename them all at one go by selecting all folder & then giving a name say 'a', all folder gets renamed as a,a1.net,a2.net & so on.

the .net part remains. but when i try to rename an individual folder & it gets renamed without .net being a part of it.

how can i rename all folders at onces without having .net as a part of folder name.
