Report: Intel will cut desktop CPU prices by 10-15% as Ryzen 3000 draws near

I so want to dump Intel and go AMD. They've improved leaps and bounds over the last couple of years. But damn Aussie retailers charge more for AMD than they do for Intel in several cases. Same with motherboards, though X570 boards are going to be beyond the reach of many.

Personally I won't use a system that has less than 28 PCIe lanes from the CPU. I run too many PCIe devices (SSDs, 10G LAN Adapters, RAID cards etc). So I'm hanging out for the next ThreadRipper, even though it's probably going to be close to $1800 - $2000 AUD with motherboards $800 - $1000. <sigh> So sick of overpriced tech :(

There is no sign that Intel CPUs will drop prices here. Why would they. With AMD already priced above Intel in some cases, there is no reason to. A Damn shame!
