Resetting Windows XP

Yes, I read the link. I was trying to find out how to change the boot order to boot either from a USB or cd but I think that is not possible with this pc so I will just enjoy tinkering with it & enjoy it as is. I thank you & the others for your help. I guess its safe to say "Case Closed :)

Gollie, 2 plus months & I finally found the boot order but unable to post picture in here probably due to size :(

Seems like that isn't an ideal use of an old computer (storing pictures), since you can just accomplish this with an external hard drive or even USB stick. However, if that is really all you want to do with it you could consider a light linux distribution such as PuppyLinux , you can store your photos with that and have a fully functional OS that can be networked without the security concerns that XP brings.
I have somehow successfully installed Slacko. I am now trying to figure out how to get to TechSpot to continue this.

I’ve been on it all day, 14 hours, have to wait till I have another day to waste
Look at it positive. Look at all the things you are learning and can pass it forward to others :D(y)
You have already learned a lot and I have also by helping you.;)

Scrap it & upgrade to 8.1 or 10.
I think you would be happier with 8.1.

You sure you want to send your best friend to hell and back again ?
Windows 8 in general was a mess to get away from, soon as 8.1 came out microsoft officially ruined it.
Try contending with windows 8 registry and system core file **** ups for a month or two.

Thank you. Even if I had the $$$ to do so, I wouldn't.

Depending on your circumstances installing 10 is still free.
I installed it & made a Macrium image of it & then used a Macrium image to revert to 8.1 Pro.
10 caused loss of my ethernet connection.
Maybe Microsoft will get that fixed.
Pinball games are available without XP.
Solitaire, etc.

Windows 8.1 Pro is not a "nightmare".
I am not saying about 8.
I had it as OEM on newly bought computer.
I got the Pro Pak for $40 & upgraded to 8 Pro & then 8.1 Pro & then 10 Pro.
Through the Store & the 10 upgrade site at Microsoft.
Windows 10, as it is, is a nightmare I do not want to contend with.
It loses wify & ethernet connections.
I'm happy with 8.1 Pro.
Otherwise I would not have suggested upgrading to it to anyone.
I just suggested upgrading to 10 FREE so one will have a license on record at Microsoft IF you use a Microsoft Account.
Like I do. :)
If so Win 10 will always be free to you.
That beats $300 or whatever 10 will cost in the future.
I'm glad I have Spell Check enabled. :)
It makes for better posts.

Jesus.
I go back to 3.1.
I'm old...

EDIT--- I had to boot from a 3 & a half inch MSDOS floppy disc.
Memory was so low it was pitiful.
