An upcoming multiplayer beta for Titanfall 2 will only be available on consoles, to the disappointment of PC gamers. While a multiplayer beta for the first Titanfall game was released on PC, Respawn Entertainment is not doing the same for the sequel as they haven't yet optimized for a wide range of hardware.

In a blog post on the matter, Respawn CEO Vince Zampella says they haven't put the game through their compatibility lab to test how it performs on the huge variety of PC components; "quite frankly, we aren't ready to deal with that yet." The developer hasn't worked on support for minimum-spec PCs either, which would limit the compatibility of the beta.

Zampella is also concerned that PC gamers will dig through the files and assets provided in the beta, potentially uncovering single-player secrets that weren't supposed to be revealed before the game's full launch. He doesn't want to take that risk by providing the beta to PC gamers, so instead it will only be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Respawn hasn't confirmed exactly when the Titanfall 2 multiplayer beta will go live, however hints suggest it could be as soon as this weekend. The full game will be released on October 28th for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

That just sounds like it won't be ready for October on PC to me.
Surely, with less than 3 months to go you would have at least started checking compatibility? And what better way to do that than an open Beta?

At least he was honest - doesn't want PC gamers spoiling game content. Usually when PC gets ignored for betas, some BS "ensuring the best quality" cookie cutter response is given.
