Revisiting the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti in 2022

The RX 6600 XT only costs $330 and is slightly faster than the $380 RTX 3060. I think that it would have been more applicable to this than the RX 5700 XT.

Having said that, I have to hand it to the GTX 1080 Ti because its longevity has been staggering. This article is a fantastic look at this venerable piece of technology. I give props to nVidia for the beast that they created with the GTX 1080 Ti. The GTX 1080 Ti was ahead of its time and thus has lived for a very long time (and still has a couple of years left in it). Its longevity reminds me of the R9 Fury, another card that just refuses to die.

Oh yeah, the R9 290X was a beast as well! I upgraded from the HD 7970/R9 280X to the R9 Fury. It was a stroke of luck for me because I couldn't justify paying over $700CAD for an RX 580 during the 2017 mining craze.

I'd rather see RTX 3060 use DLSS Quality mode and show it wrecking the 1080Ti and using way less power at 1440p!

I'd rather have full visuals than crappy blurry/reduced resolution from DLSS. I you like it that much hook that 3060 up to an 800x600 CRT.

Still rockin' my 1080ti FTW3 years later, waiting for it to feel slow before I upgrade. Running' 1440 off my asus megawide girl and glad I've survived the video card pricing apocalypse. Waiting for that 4090 ti

May 2023 here; I just ran a 75 game benchmark run with my i9 10920X and RX 7900XT/3080Ti/1080Ti/Vega 64/980Ti cards; 1080ti is still a beast:

3440x1440: R3080Ti: 125.6FPS / 7900XT: 125.2FPS / 1080Ti: 84FPS / Vega64: 64.6FPS / 980Ti: 60.1FPS

1920x1080: R3080Ti: 157.4FPS / 7900XT: 150.3FPS / 1080Ti: 125.5FPS / Vega64: 100.3FPS / 980Ti: 96.2FPS

1080Ti shows how little Nvidia AMD have moved the chains in terms of playability; I ran these 75 games at ultra or max settings; Cyberpunk and Dark Tide at High; no sissy medium settings.

The biggest, most crucial and most important reason to go back to the 10 series of cards, especially the 1080Ti, of which I am selling my RTX 3060 in place of, is because the card did NOT have artificial intelligence. And I found the driver from 2017, game ready driver online and will install it with Windows 10 Pro, which by the way I have created a global policy to block ANY new feature update versions past 22H2, which does not have A.I., thankfully. I will NOT be using ANY HARDWARE WITH A.I.. That includes browsers and search engines that use A.I., and any hardware, motherboards and phones that use NPU chips. I do not care what people say. Stay away from A.I. like the plague at every turn you can.

Say NO to globalist agendas, including artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality. I have NEVER bought any of that crap.
